This coming Monday, June 1, 2020, is not only the start of Pride Month, but also the 15th Annual #LGBTQFamiliesDay! Everyone is invited to participate (allies, too)! There are more ways than ever to celebrate the day, including easy shareable images, coloring sheets, and an online concert for the whole family! Read on to learn more.
It’s #LGBTQFamiliesDay, and you’re invited! Start the first full week of Pride Month with a day of visibility and community! Share a family photo, a short message of celebration and support, or longer reflections using any social media channel, with the hashtag #LGBTQFamiliesDay. Then follow the hashtag throughout the day and share from other participants. If you post on your own blog or or have other longer pieces you’ve written, you may also submit links to those posts after the jump, and I’ll add them to a list at Mombian for all to peruse.

Happy Pride, all! As parents, we know what pride is from the moment we first see our children. As LGBTQ people and/or their children, we also know what Pride is. When Facebook earlier this year added many nonbinary options for indicating gender, I complained that the range of choices to indicate family members who are also on Facebook remained traditionally gendered. No more. They’ve just added gender-neutral options for many family members.
