Watch: New Music Video Celebrates Transgender Girl

A happy way to end the week is with this great new video from Canadian band Walk Off the Earth about a transgender girl learning to be herself.

The video, “Alright,” is from their June album Sing It All Away. The band told Mashable that Ellie, the eight-year-old star of the piece, “is actually a friend of the band” and they hope “her story resonates with people the same way it did with us.”

It’s been a great year for LGBTQ-inclusive kids’ music—although Sing It All Away isn’t really a kids’ album per se. More kid-specific and inclusive albums this year include:
