Happy Bloggiversary: Mombian Is 8

balloons3Eight years ago today, I published my first post here at Mombian.

I was the mother of a two-year-old, hoping to keep my professional skills in online marketing sharp while staying home with my son. I never realized I would make so many friends. I never knew how my own horizons would expand by listening to your stories and comments as well as writing my own.

It may be Mombian’s birthday, but it’s really a celebration of all of you. A big thank you to everyone who has read this blog, commented, shared a post, or connected via Facebook or Twitter. An extra-big thank you to my own family, who have put up with my tappity-tapping on the keyboard far into the night.

I started this blog when my son was in diapers and barely talking; now, he’s turning 10 and looking forward to his last year of elementary school. Massachusetts had started allowing same-sex couples to marry just a year before; now, the Supreme Court is set to issue a ruling next week that could legalize federal recognition for same-sex couples in some or all states.

It’s been a wild eight years. I may not know what the future will hold, but I’m glad for all of your company.
