Mother’s (s’) Day Discussion Thread

PresentsI’ve given you my ideas. What are your ideas for Mother’s (s’) Day gifts, as either giver or receiver, if you qualify? And how do you feel about this whole Mother’s Day/Father’s Day distinction if you identify somewhere in between?

Regardless of what or when you celebrate, what would you most like to have for breakfast in bed? (Food, people. I’m talking food.)

  1. I think everyday should be mother’s day. But in saying that, I also think we get into the busy of life and forget about how important our mothers are. I went several years trying to have a baby and not feeling important on mothers day. Now that I am going to have a baby thru surrogacy, I’m damn excited for mothers day.

That’s my take on it! Jessica

  2. I am all about special pictures and handprints. I love it when the teachers at school send them home with stuff like that for Mother’s Day. I love it even better when our kids are allowed extra time to make 2 thingummies for Mother’s Day by caring teachers– and then directed &/or gently guided to make a special something for Grandpa when the Father’s Day project comes up.

  3. I like DivaJean’s idea about making something for Grandpa as a Father’s Day project. My son isn’t old enough for this to be an issue yet (he’s 9 and a half months). I will definitely tuck this into my brain for later. Thanks for the idea!
