As reported here last July, Melissa Etheridge has appeared as a guest (several times now) on PBS Kids’ Between the Lions. Now, it’s come to my attention that fellow lesbian mom and Iron Chef Cat Cora has done a spot for the show as well—a short bit in which she enunciates and demonstrates the word “pot.” Cora also appeared in an issue of People last month with her partner and kids (as I wrote about as well).
I’m liking this trend of out lesbian moms on Between the Lions, as it’s one of our family’s favorite shows. I also think it’s a slow, hesitant step towards the day when both moms of these couples will be able to appear together, with their kids, enunciating and demonstrating the word “family.”
We never seen that show — will have to investigate it!
We love ‘tween the Lions around our house. I’ve seen Melissa Etheridge on the show, but don’t remember Cat Cora — probably because I didn’t know who she was. Hopefully, one of these days, they will be able to be on shows like BTL with their whole family.
