Frequently Asked Questions PDF Print E-mail
  1. What is the Mombian Resource Directory?

    • The Mombian Resource Directory is a portal of links for and about LGBT parents and families. It began as a resource directory for lesbian moms, but is expanding to include content for GBT parents as well. Some straight parents may even find things of interest. The Directory is not, however, intended to be a portal for all things LGBT.
  2. Are all the resources listed here LGBT-specific? LGBT-friendly?

    • The Directory is full of LGBT-specific links, but also contains many links of general interest to any parent. I've made reasonable efforts, however, to ensure non-LGBT-specific links are LGBT friendly. If you find a site listed here that contains content you feel is anti-LGBT or in any other way inappropriate, please contact me .
  3. How does this site differ from the Mombian blog?

    • The Mombian blog contains fresh content (almost) daily, including news, parenting tips, and political commentary. The Resource Directory is a reference guide for lesbian parents and others, and complements the blog.
  4. Why should I register?

    • By registering, you will be able to rate existing bookmarks and create your own private bookmarks that will appear only to you when you view the Directory. You will also be able to sign up for the Mombian Monthly Newsletter. Mombian may also offer additional members-only features in the future.
  5. I submitted a link to the directory. Why don't I see it in the directory listing?

    • There could be a number of reasons for this. All submitted links are moderated in order to prevent malicious submissions of inappropriate content. This means it may take a few days before your link is approved. I also reserve the right to reject a submitted link for any reason, including, but not limited to: anti-LGBT or non-inclusive content, sites that show signs of not being updated in over a year, and sites that are LGBT-related but far afield from parenting interests.
