I heard something about two lesbians having a child that had both of their dna. Wondering if that is possible? Also wondering how i can get a procedure where i get my partners egg planted in me and use a sperm donor. If you could help me out at all that would be great. Thanks, trish
Hmm. Not sure about the DNA thing. As far as the egg donation/sperm donor procedure, that’s exactly what Helen and I did. Here’s my post all about it.
This response is to Trish’s comment regarding two lesbians reproducing biological children using their own DNA.
While I am no expert on the topic of Stem Cell Research, I do know about a Mocumentary called, “The Baby Formula” which is built on this very premise. It’s a touching, loving film. You can view their trailer on You Tube or by following this link.

Hi,
My partner and I are in the very early stages of starting a family. We’ve decided that we want to use a sperm bank which is a viable option seeing as we live close to San Francisco. The only question I can’t really find an answer to is, how much does it cost and how easy is it for me to adopt the child and can we do it before she gives birth?
Thanks,
Amy
Re: Amy’s question.
May I suggest you look into The Sperm Bank Of California. They are a lesbian owned, non-profit bank,
located in the East Bay. They are incredibly helpful over the phone and will answer any and all
questions that you may have. Pricing is also clearly laid out on their website, and the site itself is
easy to understand and navigate.
I am unsure as to why they are not listed as a resource on Mombian, but hopefully the admin will update as they are a valuable asset to the lesbian community who are
looking to get pregnant via insemination.
Hope this helps!
Heidi
Duly updated! Thanks, Heidi!
I was just wanted to know if anyone had used dealt with Cryos International. They have an office a subway ride away from us and a donor we like. I am a little worried because they seem so much cheaper. Why is that?
Thanks so much.
