Take a Selfie Today for “A Day in LGBT America”

dayinlgbtTaking a selfie today isn’t narcissistic. For the third year in a row, The Advocate is compiling photos depicting “A Day in LGBT America,” and they want people to take and share their pictures. Let’s make sure lots of us parents participate! Here’s how.

The Advocate says:

You don’t need to be a professional photographer. Just mark your calendar, and on November 11 take a self-portrait, or have a friend photograph you or your family or friends doing anything that says something about who you are as a lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender person in the United States.

After that, you can either tweet your photo today to @TheAdvocateMag using hashtag #dayinLGBT, or e-mail it to lucas.grindley@advocate.com by November 15.

This is a great opportunity to share a glimpse of our lives — our diversity and commonalities — with each other and the world at large. Can’t wait to see all of our images!
