Tonight: Twitter Party on LGBT Family Travel

TwitterParty_403

It’s tonight! Please join me from 9 to 10 p.m. EST. for a travel-focused Twitter party for LGBT families and friends. Over 600 people have preregistered for the event, and it should be a great evening of stories, tips, and fun.

You can just join in at 9 p.m. EST by following the hashtags #RIFamily and #TMOM — but if you preregister and then leave a tweet at the party (by using those hashtags), you’ll be eligible to win one of two signed copies of Iron Chef and lesbian mom Cat Cora’s Classics with a Twist: Fresh Takes on Favorite Dishes cookbook, or the GRAND PRIZE: a Residence Inn gift card valued at $250. (See details at the link above.)

We’ll be discussing topics including:

  • Legal and practical aspects of traveling interstate and internationally
  • General tips for hitting the road with kids in tow
  • Extended stays out-of-state or internationally during an adoption process

. . . and we want to hear your questions, suggestions, and tales of adventure.

The event is sponsored by Residence Inn in partnership with Mombian, TravelingMom, and the Family Equality Council. I’ll be moderating, with panelists Emily Hecht-McGowan, Director of Public Policy for Family Equality; Kim Simes, Midwest Regional Manager for Family Equality; Kim Orlando, Founder of TravelingMom; Cindy Richards, Editor-in-Chief of TravelingMom; and Deb S., Director of Operations of TravelingMom; Brent Almond of Designer Daddy; Casey Carey-Brown of Life with Roozle; Lori Lavender Luz of LavenderLuz.com; Vicki Reich of Up Popped a Fox; and Deb Rox of Deb on the Rocks.

Please share the graphic here on your blogs and social media, and invite your friends to join the party. (Share easily on Facebook via the post I put on the Mombian Facebook page, if you like.)

Looking forward to tweeting with you all tonight!
