Take a Survey About Impact of Internet on Adoption

megaphoneA new study by the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute aims to look at how the Internet and social media are impacting people touched by adoption, from adopted persons to adoptive parents, birth/first parents, and adoption professionals. If you fit one of those categories, they want your input!

The Adoption Institute, a leading national not-for-profit dedicated to improving adoption policy and practice, is conducting the study as a follow up to an earlier report on the topic. Help them out if you can by completing the survey — the results could benefit many people and families. Below are the details:

The Adoption Institute needs your help on an unprecedented study, and it will only take 15-20 minutes of your time. Here’s the scoop: The Internet and social media are forever changing adoption — and our lives — yet we know little about their impact on the millions of people who are affected. So the Institute is launching a new study seeking relevant information from adopted persons, adoptive parents, birth/first parents and adoption professionals. Please complete a private survey if you fit into any of those descriptions — and, whether you do or not, spread the word to colleagues and friends, through email blasts and news stories, on Facebook and Twitter, in newsletters and blogs, and any other way you can think of. We are charting new territory in an effort to shape thoughtful, humane and ethical laws, policies and practices — and your input will help us do it. It’s quick, it’s easy and it’s important; just click here. This research follows up on the Institute’s 2012 report, Untangling the Web.

While this study isn’t specific to lesbian and gay parents, the Institute has done other work that is. Check it out if you haven’t already.
