Like Mandi, I’m happy to see this picked up in major news outlets as well as the ever-reliable (Big Ben is less reliable!) Mombian. The writer in the Salon piece on it actually managed to be a bit surprised at the “healthier” part of the results. Though she notes the impact of the planned nature our parenthoods, I’m inclined to extrapolate from personal experience (not a scientist!) and hazard that teaching kids how to overcome social bias makes them stronger people and therefore more resilient. Life challenges, put in perspective, make for really emotionally healthy people. Just a totally idiosyncratic guess, but it occurs to me.

Really happy to see this article and others on Google news about the same study. Years ago my mother said hateful things about my wife and I having children in the future and how it would affect them. As it turns out, they will be more well-adjusted than I am… I wonder why?lol
