		<description>I can see where the Census Bureau might run into trouble, especially given the patchwork of recognition.  In my example, we were married (and lived for a while) in Canada, but now live in a state that doesn&#039;t recognize our marriage (for family reasons).  I know which box I&#039;ll check, but I&#039;m not sure how that would translate in our state.</description>
