You&#039;re so right, that one of the most important next phases of the process includes the unglamorous, patience-taxing work of carefully examining and disentangling the complex knots that bind up people&#039;s spiritual beliefs with a notion that they obligate the state to reflect them.  Even when they cancel out many other equally deeply-held spiritual beliefs. 

Genuine pluralism -- religious, political, social, what have you -- is very hard to achieve, and it seems it takes a great deal of respect for other people to get there.  Thank you for fostering that here, and for helping us see it at work elsewhere.</description>
