Since our son's school had a meet the teacher afternoon, we both went and introduced ourselves to his teacher (who may have already been told since our son was part of an affiliated preschool program last year). I have found that the more matter-of-fact we are, the more readily other people accept the information. Of course, we haven't hit the really hard stuff yet.
