my 14 yr old teen says she's *bi.* She's having sex with boys and girls. I need info on lesbian safe sex. She knows about condoms with boys but girls can transmit diseases as well. Hearing it from me is going through one ear and out the other, plus I know absolutley nothing about girl on girl stuff except from Margaret Cho.

Good *bi* guide or book for teens anyone?

Transparent, by Cris Beam, is indeed wonderful. I wrote about it a few months back, in fact. I didn't include it in my introductory list here, however, because it deals with one specific segment of the transgender population--homeless urban teens. Beam does include much general information about gender identity and expression, too, but I felt that The Transgender Child and the Web sites listed were better as starting points for people of various backgrounds and locales.

I'd definitely encourage people to read Transparent at some point, however. Not only is it an important story, but it's exceptionally well written.

I've heard that a new book, Transparent is a good guide for folks with trangender teenagers as well. I haven't read it myself, though.
