My name is Karina Carretero and my colleagues and I were the ones Dana references above. We work at Edelman in Los Angeles and it was really neat to be in a workplace were we could take some time out to do reflect on DOS if we wanted to. During our 15 minutes of silence, I found myself reflecting on the spirit of Lawrence King and I got a little emotional. I also wanted to say something...just to talk to see what else others were feeling or thought about this, but I respected the quiet time and sent thoughts of peace out into the universe instead. Great post, Dana!

My brother e-mailed me this morning, telling me he was one of only 7 students in his school participating.

But that people were having really positive reactions.

There's hope for my home town yet.
